TikTokData Visualization2021 - 2024
As an Art Director, I built TikTok’s data visualization system from the ground up. I conducted cross-functional research groups across the organization to understand data-visualization needs, then worked with marketers, data scientists, and writers to fill those needs. 

This work includes a 300-page organization-wide data visualization toolkit, dozens of interactive articles, decks, and sizzle reels.

This included initial strategy work to understand the target audience. From here, I built event collateral, identities, social assets, decks, and physical builds.

QuartzArt Direction2018-2020
I worked with reporters, data scientists, and developers to create 12 interactive articles for Quartz Creative. Presented with a brief, I would pitch editors multiple visual ideas for each article, then develop the selected one into a fully functional site. 

This included an interactive explainer on S&P 500 coal emissions, a leadership quiz sponsered by EY, an interactive article on proposed coal plants in China, and an web experience simulating the thrill of driving a Lexus.

HawkfishArt Direction & Design2019 - 2020
For the 2020 election, I was an Art Director with Hawkfish, an organization built by Michael Bloomberg in service of Democratic candidates. 

I Developed fifteen large scale social and OOH campaigns. This includes Spanish language campaigns encouraging voting in Florida, anti-Trump OOH campaigns in Las Vegas, and initiatives for down-ballot races in New York.

As a contracted Art Director for Apple, I worked on the Keynote release of their 2021 iMac. I built websites to be displayed on the iMac within this presentation. Positioning this device as a “family computer,” I worked to show a wide set of use cases for an entire family.

Twitter Awards (Combo)Data Visualization & Design2016
With the agency Combo (formerly Verdes), I developed the 2016 Twitter Award. With data pulled from from the Twitter API, I employed Grasshopper, a parametric modeling program, to design a bespoke data visualization for each of the 16 winners. 

Each award contained a data-visualization representing the impact of winner’s tweets across the Tittersphere.

Haven Life (Combo)Design & Research2017
In a campaign for Haven Life, we wanted to drive life insurance sales among Millennials. How? By being honest. It’s not life insurance: it’s death insurance.  

With this strategy in mind, we developed a campaign called “In Case You Die.” As part of this campaign, I collected articles, poems, novel passages, art, historical facts, data, scientific papers, Google Map images, and illustrations all about death. I compiled this into a 250 book for the brand, all about the science, art, philosophy, history and future of death.
